My Experience

I’m Sylvia Coester and I’m from Roosendaal, Holland. 21 years old and had only 1 year lessons in dance. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t dance before. I was almost born dancing, hahaha. Any way. Dancing is my passion, my life. Holland was the last country of the 10 in Europe. So it was a hard and tough time. I heard it on the phone that I made it through the half Final of Holland on Friday. Saturday was the half final and the final. And I wonJ. In 3 hours I had photo shoots, press and a cap to get home to get my stuff for London. Sunday morning I got by plane to London.

So we met each other on Sunday. 30 people from 10 different countries. It was fun and new for all of us. I had a little bit of sleep, cause the next day we’re gonna meet Wade and on the end of that day 15 people were already gonna send home.

I made it through the final and every day it was full of happiness but also sadness because all the other dancers that also worked so hard for it but had to go home. On the Friday we had the final decision about the last 8 in the grand final. By excitant one of the dancers dropped me on the floor. I hurt so badly, but this is my dream and I kept on going…..You’ve got no idea how I felt after I heard that I was going to the grand final.

The days after it were tough, because I was tired and my head bumped like crazy. I prayed for better days and that the headaches were over when I woke up. But it’s wasn’t. Any way I made the best of it and I already came this far.

The final was amazing. All these lights, the stage and lovely people. And don’t forget the clothes and the make over. They cut my hair and I had to dance in a bikini top. Thank god that worked out well. Wade was very sweet and caring to all of the dancers. So as Lavelle and Litza.

First I was in the group of Litza, but with the last choice the groups were not equal any more. So Sergie and I had to learn the routine of Lavelle. It was cool and different, but crazy to learn a routine in 2 days. But when the music starts it all falls into place and then you know why the last 8 were in the Final. Every body is so good!

I had to compete with Hollie and she is real good every routine and every day. I knew she had a good chance to win and she did! It’s a competition, but we became a lovely group. We get in touch some time. Wade got us trough a great 2 weeks and learn us a lot.

I hope I get on other change to dance, work and show. Cause dancing is just too great to miss.

When I came home, I really missed all the dancers, the crew and Wade….. Just missed Shakedown. It was a great time and experience and maybe we all meet again.

With love,
Sylvia
